I guess I saw an advertisement for the WWE the other day for a payperview event. WWE is the new name for the WWF which was the world wresting federation, basically pro wrestling. I can remember watching wrestling when I was like 12 and 13 years old, I was so into it and can still mention most of the names even though I only watched it for a few years. People were always slamming each other with chairs and putting Mcfoley through two tables and all kinds of crazy antics. I feel like it has dropped off in popularity the past couple of years. They use to and still do bring in celebrities to attract attention to the events they have upcoming. Barrack Obama, Hilary Clinton, and John McCain recently all did spots on the WWE as ads for their campaigns and the WWE. What would Jesus be like if was brought in for event of the WWE. Would he be flipping over tables like he did in the temple courts when the money people of that day were making money by ripping people off. Rarely do we see Jesus get angry, but when he does it is usually at religious people who are actually turning people away from God. I’m sure he wanted to do a suplex or give a kidney shot to some of the overly religious people in his time, he held his anger and was self controlled. Although I don’t feel like he would be “stone cold stunning” the other competitors or elbow dropping them from the turnbuckle, I feel like he would be making an impact on lives. His message of love and Hope would affect the hearts and minds of people and have a bigger impact than any other character. What if followers of Jesus became bigger fans of Jesus. What if we talked about Jesus more often and how amazing he is and what he does in our lives. We talk about what artists, actors did recently and how it was crazy or dumb. We talk about crazy things in the news, but what if more about Jesus was in our conversations with other people. Why not talk about what God was speaking to you or what he showed you that morning or how you saw something that reminded you of him. It’s tough, but God does really impact our lives when we are worshiping him through talking with him, reading what he wrote to us, and asking him to speak and then listening. We could create more of an impact on people in general with these kinds of conversations, rather than other conversations about events that will not matter in two weeks. I feel like in Matthew 29:18 Jesus is calling each one of us to be his number one fans. I watched a video on Youtube recently and it is of Steve Harvey announcing the coming of Jesus and what it would be like to announce him. Not sure if Steve Harvey is a believer but it is all truth about Jesus that he says. CHeck out the Video Steve Harvey Video
